Technical Oversight

Whoever builds your software shouldn't be the only one who evaluates it.

The challenge

Your vendor develops, but you have no way to know whether what they build is sound.

How we do it

We act as your technical counterpart: we review the code, the architecture and the migration plans, and tell you what's sound and what isn't, with part-time useit profiles.

What we deliver
  • A read on the state of the code
  • Architecture and critical-change review
  • A reviewed migration or modernization plan
  • A technical risk report in business language

How we work.

The sequence is always the same; scope and dedication we define together in the first conversation.

01

Mandate and access

Your vendor knows we act on your behalf. We receive the documentation, the repository and the environments.

02

Initial read

We sample-review the state of the code and the architecture. It's the baseline we measure everything else against.

03

Technical criteria

We agree with you and your vendor on the standards the code and architecture decisions must meet.

04

Ongoing review

We review critical changes, technical decisions and risks, and report them to you regularly.

What we do
  • + Architecture and technical decision review
  • + Review of critical code changes
  • + Validation of migration and version/platform upgrade plans
  • + Early detection of risk and technical debt
  • + Periodic reports for non-technical owners and executives

Frequently asked questions.

Do you replace my development vendor?

No. Your vendor keeps building and operating. We direct and verify, and we're accountable for the quality of that oversight.

Do you need access to my code and documentation?

Yes. Without access to the repository, the business and software documentation, and the environments, we can't carry out the work correctly or responsibly.

How is this different from Support and Evolution?

In Support and Evolution, useit maintains the software and is accountable for its operation. In Technical Oversight, another vendor builds or operates it, and useit oversees it on your behalf.
